Optimus Maximus OLED Keyboard shipping

Finally!

Optimus Maximus

Expect to pay in the neighborhood of $1600 US for the fully customizable keyboard, once tax and shipping are considered.

The Optimus Mini Three was a hit with multimedia hackers ... I can only begin to imagine what talented people could do with the full 113 customizable keys.

The site says ~$500. Even for $500, I just don't get it. What is the purpose of such a fancy-shmancy keyboard? It's still going to get crusty, dusty and full of spilled beer and whatnot.

$500 is for the one active key -- space, I think. You can get it with just the space key, just the function keys, or all 113 keys active.

This is a hot keyboard for anyone who works in multiple languages, or just likes to show off.

I don't see a lot of use for it -- in a business sense. But owning it would increase the size of my geekpenis approximately 1034.2%.

Not less than 10 seconds later, I see fancy shmancy used in another blog

heh well I'm a longtime reader of theDailyWTF myself, and I did read that there this morning, though I do use the term (rarely) myself.
