The Digg Paradigm: Community Spirit vs. Active Promotion
Everyone knows that having an article hit the front page of a popular social bookmarking site is an instant traffic boon that can't be ignored, but how do you get to the front page? Learn more about the issues involved.
Every story about how corrupt Digg is will eventually bring it down. It's very model encourages corruption. I consider Digg a sophisticated comment spam scheme.
P.S. Your Disqus is broken - wish you source controlled your blogger HTML template now, don't you?
Ahhh ... 1. I've been on this template longer than you :P 2. I was on this template before I went to Disqus. If the disqus stuff is MIA, maybe Blogger puked.
I did! I went through the whole setup rigmarole. I was going to document it, but documenting it takes longer than just doing it! Something got funked up here.
If you have the perfect storm of making changes to your template (which wipes out your Disqus mods), having comments turned on for new posts by default, make a post - that new post will always use Blogger comments instead of Disqus.
In other words, if you provide this window of opporunity, the behavior is the exact behavior your posts/comments pre-Disqus have.
It's probably Freudian why you just can't see that *you* are the cause. Did your mother withhold comments from you as a child? Did your father comment spam you?
Then again, maybe Blogger/Disqus burped. It's all a wild-arse black box so you'll never know.

lol, that's not disqus that's broken, I believe it's the crappy Digg-Blogger pipe. Unless I'm missing something.
Yes, Digg is doomed to die. Victim of its own popularity and nature.
You have to put back the Disqus stuff into your html template now that you changed templates.
Hey we are using the same blogger template now! Of course mine has a spiffy new logo instead of boring text.

It's easy to put back. I've done 5 times without problems. I'll e-mail you the steps and code if you need it.
Plus - you are supposed to turn off Blogger comments once you use Disqus - didn't you read the damn directions?

It couldn't have been anything *you* did. Nope, not a chance. Must have been Blogger.
I love giving you shit.
Since it continues to work on other entries, I'm pretty confident the Digg Blog This functionality is at fault ;)
re: giving me sh!t
Good thing I'm thick skulled. Errr, skinned.

Thick? I think you needed to stop after just that word!! :)
No, no, no, you've got it all wrong Glenn. The word you're looking for there is "fat," not "thick."
