Marthas is now owned by the original owners son. All the prices have dropped and the quality of the ice cream is amazing now. Six Flags has no part in Marhas anymore. It is back and it is better then ever!

I too have photos of the rooster and the establishment - mostly b/c it's named after me, haha, j/k. I'm also wondering if they still have the t-shirt - "I Get My Licks at Martha's" - it'd be a great wedding present for my husband-to-be!

Thanks for the history of Martha's. We haven't been in years and found your blog when trying to find out if Martha's was still in business. Turns out they are still there and the ice cream was great. At least for the time being, Martha's is still physically there and still selling ice cream. Prices have gone up, quality down a bit, but still there and run by the nameless faceless overlords of the Six Flags conglomo....

There's another place across town (the name escapes me, but they're near your Dad's office if memory serves) which is run by the original owners of Martha's. New name, same great experience.
